I bought this book for my 104 year old mother. She used to do Sudoku years ago and since her mind is still pretty good. I wanted her to do something to keep that going. The adult version was a it to much so I tried this kids version. It has helped her relearn how to do the puzzles and although she still makes mistakes, she has become addicted to doing them.

This book has 100 kid’s sudoku puzzles. It is a good beginning book for kids learning to solve sudoku puzzles. The answers to the puzzles are easy to find. It is on the same page but upside down. This is a fun book.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I review a lot of sudoku activity books for both children and adults, and this is the most unusual one I’ve seen—and not in a good way. I would say this book has both easy and medium difficulty puzzles, not just easy. Some would be shockingly easy, as MANY numbers are given, while others would definitely be more challenging with fewer provided. It’s like the publisher filled in the numbers on the grid making a shape or a pattern, rather than making these truly all easy puzzles. For instance, sometimes two entire lines’ numbers are provided, making them very easy, while other puzzles have only a few around the edges, making them far more challenging. The book includes solutions, but it does so upside down on the same page right next to the puzzle. For sudoku books, I much prefer to see solutions at the end, as this book’s set-up would make cheating very easy. The book has a few pages of instruction, but since this is a book intended for children, I think a page or two on tips or strategies would have been wonderful. I’m not quite sure if this book is really suitable for the entire age range, as the easy puzzles might be simple enough for six-year-olds while the medium ones could be challenging. All in all, I wasn’t wild about this children’s sudoku book.I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

This book has 100 6×6 Sudoku puzzles for kids. The puzzles come in a range of difficulties that are great for kids between the ages of 8-12. Younger kids might have some difficulty with these puzzles though. My 9 year old really enjoyed solving these puzzles. She particularly liked that the solution was next to the puzzle. When she wanted to challenge herself she would cover the solution up with a piece of paper. When she got stuck all she needed to do was take a peak rather than flipping through pages to find it in the back of the book. Not something you normally see in sudoku books but she really enjoyed it.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
